Position Overview:

We are seeking motivated student fellows, grounded in integrity, empathy, and hardwork, to join our team. This role offers hands-on experience in a congressional campaign and is ideal for individuals interested in political campaigns and public service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct door-to-door canvassing to engage voters, communicate campaign priorities, and collect constituent feedback
• Make voter outreach phone calls to educate constituents about campaign initiatives, events, and voting
• Attend campaign events and community gatherings to build relationships with local stakeholders and expand grassroots support
• Lead and support youth outreach efforts by engaging students and young voters through campus organizing, voter registration initiatives, and peer-to-peer outreach
• Recruit, mobilize, and maintain communication with volunteers to strengthen campaign engagement and participation
• Represent the campaign professionally in public settings and serve as a positive ambassador for the candidate and campaign mission

Position Overview:

A field organizer is responsible for planning and executing campaign field operations throughout a designated region. This position works closely with County Captains, Regional Leads, and volunteers to recruit supporters, build volunteer teams, coordinate voter contact efforts, and achieve campaign fi eld goals. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, and committed to building a strong grassroots operation across the assigned territory.

Territory Assignment

Location Preference: Candidates based in Minnesota near Willmar, Thief River Falls, East Grand Forks, Fergus Falls are preferred. Applicants residing elsewhere in Minnesota’s 7th Congressional District are still encouraged to apply.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Field Leadership & Communication: Coordinate field activities across assigned areas and maintain regular communication with County Captains, Regional Leads, volunteers, and campaign staff. Provide updates to the Field Director and represent the campaign at community events and meetings.
• Volunteer Recruitment & Development: Recruit, train, organize, and retain volunteers. Build strong volunteer teams and maintain consistent engagement throughout the assigned territory.
• Field Operations: Plan and lead voter outreach activities, including doorknocking and other field events. Coordinate volunteers, prepare outreach materials, and help ensure campaign events and activities are well organized and effective.
• Campaign Materials: Coordinate the distribution of yard signs, literature, postcards, and other campaign materials. Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to campaign leadership.
• Voter Outreach & Turnout: Support voter contact and Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts, including phone banks, doorknocking, community outreach, and other turnout activities.
• Tracking & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of volunteer activity, voter outreach, and campaign materials. Meet established outreach and recruitment goals and provide regular progress updates to campaign leadership.
• Professional Representation: Represent the campaign professionally and build positive relationships with volunteers, community leaders, voters, and campaign partners. Work collaboratively with campaign staff to advance overall campaign goals.

Qualifications:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to recruit, motivate, and lead volunteers.
• Comfortable working independently while maintaining regular communication with leadership.
• Willingness to conduct door-to-door outreach and make phone calls as part of regular responsibilities.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as activities require.
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.
• Preferred: Previous experience with field organizing, community outreach, or volunteer coordination.
• Preferred: Experience using volunteer or constituent relationship management (CRM) platforms, such as VoteBuilder, Mobilize, or similar outreach and organizing tools.
