What an incredible weekend as we kicked off DFL County Convention Season. Happy to report we had super strong showings in all 4 places. Our 11 months of hard work is paying off. People showed up & showed out. They made their voices & votes heard.
On Sunday, 58 delegates, 5 alternates, DFL party leaders, candidates, and guests participated in the Todd/Wadena DFL County Convention. Many were 1st timers. We are overwhelmed by the amount of support felt in the Wadena UCC today. I’ve come to call what we are witnessing a “Rural Revival” of sorts. New energy, new people, and new solutions. Again, grateful is how we feel.
We are on the road again this week. We have a Kandiyohi DFL delegate meet-up tomorrow evening at Spurs Bar & Grill in Willmar, and a meet-n-greet in the Moorhead area on Thursday evening at The TAK Event Center. We are working on a Chippewa County DFL delegate meet-up for Friday; more info on that soon. And as if that’s not enough, there’s a full slate of DFL County Conventions on Saturday. We will continue our earned, not given, approach all the way to the finish line. On this campaign, we believe the work is the reward. We also believe WE CAN DO BETTER.

I’ve been thinking a lot about just HOW divided we are right now. And I don’t just mean left vs. right. There are divisions within the divisions. There are groups within groups. Wedge issues drive us apart. Frustration adds fuel to the fire. We lose focus on the task at hand. We become reactive rather than proactive.
Not everything in our lives is meant to have political ramifications. Where we eat, where we shop, where we pray, or whether or not we do. There is no THEM, there is only US. And WE need to figure out a way to create some solidarity right now. One of this campaign’s goals is to unite all 38 counties in western Minnesota & flip a 70-30 district. We’ve been at this for coming up on a year now. The next 3 months are going to be pivotal as we finish our quest for the DFL endorsement, which will happen on April 25th.
This past Saturday, Team Osberg had a strong showing at both the Brown County and Yellow Medicine County DFL Conventions. My message to the folks in Clarkfield (Yellow Medicine Co.) was that courage is contagious. The courage they have shown by being part of the process matters. I let them know we are grateful they have stepped up and gotten involved. I’m also grateful for the Team we have assembled. Some true all-stars on this squad. We are ready, willing and able to WIN! We will continue to take an earned, not given, approach on our quest to secure the DFL endorsement.

Elections security under attack
On February 2nd, the current representative co-sponsored legislation that would withhold election security funds from Minnesota until the state turned over the complete private voter files to the federal government. Two courts have already found similar cases to be unconstitutional. Our elections are under attack, and heading into the midterms, our congressmember is supporting legislation that makes votes less secure and the federal government more powerful. I support ending Citizen’s United
I am running to flip a 70%-30% Congressional District in western Minnesota. In 2025, we raised roughly $160,000 with 100% coming from real people. To meet this moment, I’m joining End Citizens United Unrig Washington Campaign: a bold, public commitment to clean up Congress by supporting real anti-corruption reforms and leading by example by refusing corporate PAC money, supporting legislation banning congressional stock trading, and cracking down on dark money.
Calling all Kandiyohi and Clay Delegates
Calling all DFL County Convention delegates & alternates in the Kandiyohi County area! We are holding a delegate meet-up Monday evening in Willmar from 6pm-8pm. This is a chance to learn more about what to expect at the upcoming County Conventions. We will be at Spurs Bar & Grill. Taco bar will be provided. Guests are responsible for beverages or other menu items. The Kandiyohi DFL County Convention will be next Saturday (2/21/26) at the Willmar Community Center starting at 9:30am. We will be there as well. If you are attending a different county convention, or if you just want to learn more about our campaign, you are welcome to attend.

To all the voters in the Clay County area: we are hosting a meet-n-greet this coming Thursday (2/19/26) at the TAK Event Center from 7pm-8:30pm. Whether you are a Clay County DFL delegate/alternate or just wanna learn more about our plan to flip the 7th Congressional District, come join us.

Remembering a Hero
We lost a prairie patriot over the weekend. Connie Velde, a longtime DFL champion, impactful Minnesota Farmers Union member, and leader in so many ways, passed away suddenly. We were with Connie, her husband Tim, & some of their kids over the weekend. Our hearts go out to Tim & the Velde family, Connie’s many friends, and the communities of Granite Falls & surrounding areas in and around Yellow Medicine County. We first met Connie last spring, we were impressed. We feel fortunate to have gotten to know her. She will be missed.
