Happy to report we earned the DFL endorsement at Saturday’s CD7 Convention in Granite Falls. I’ve been getting texts & calls & messages saying “Congrats Erik. You earned it.” My response has been “WE earned it.” That is why this campaign has the energy we have, because of the ACTIONS so many people are taking in all 38 counties. Once again, if you are still opening these emails & reading them, “Thanks!” I am humbled and honored by the support. Our task now becomes uniting western Minnesota in the common cause of restoring our representation at the federal level. Forever grateful for all the hard work so many people are putting into this campaign. Say it with me: WE CAN DO BETTER!

We were truly blown away by everyone who showed up in Granite Falls on Saturday. We had a full slate of delegates and a jam packed alternate & visitor seating area that was standing room only. This is the rural revival we have been seeing all over CD7 since we announced on March 11, 2025. The energy & enthusiasm at the convention is something that has not been seen in this part of Minnesota in a very long time. People are clearly ready to defend the Constitution, restore checks and balances, get corporate money out of politics, and flip this seat back to blue on Nov. 3rd.
What comes next is the kind of work that hasn’t been seen in CD7 in a very long time. We’re going to need the largest field operation this district has ever seen. And to do that, we’re going to need to build a team that stretches from Warroad to Jasper and everywhere in between. That’s where you come in.
We plan to hold both in-person and online volunteer summits in May. It’ll be a chance to learn about ways you can be a part of this team. Whether it’s phonebanking, door knocking, addressing postcards, hosting a house party, supporting the campaign on social media, or something else altogether, there will be plenty of opportunities for all.

We’re truly building the kind of team it’ll take to win in November. All that’s missing is you.

We’ve gotten a lot of support over the past 412 days. Every “like,” every comment, every share, every dollar, every phone call made or answered, every handshake, every piece of feedback, every question, every time you showed up. It all matters and it helped us accomplish what we set out to do nearly 14 months ago… earn the DFL endorsement. From day 1, we’ve taken an “earned not given” approach. We’ve strived to bring value and show up with purpose. We’ve created what we believe are meaningful relationships in all 38 counties in CD7.
Through a stroke of fate, a team of dedicated & passionate people have come together with a common cause: to restore representation to the people. This campaign is people powered and our collective voice will be heard. We believe we have raised the bar for what is possible in rural politics.

On Teamwork and Bonding
A message from Team Erik:
“Of course those of us on Team Erik wanted to earn the endorsement Saturday. But at this point, it feels like icing on the cake of how darn proud we are to be part of this team. A year ago, most of us didn’t know each other. And now, even though much of our interactions have been virtual, we feel like a family. That’s what working towards a common goal in a truly collaborative environment will do to a group of hard working Minnesotans. It will bond you in a way you didn’t expect.
It hasn’t been all duckies and bunnies though. Like any family, we have our disagreements. But the common goal and the knowledge that our intentions are always in service to that goal help to work the disagreements out. Of course none of that would be possible if Erik wasn’t the person he is & if he hadn’t created an environment where the work is the reward, and that we > me.
We took a break from the hard work Friday night and gathered around a fire. We talked a little shop & went over last minute details about the convention, but mostly it was just friends hanging out, talking with each other about what’s going on in their lives, making more memories on this quest to do what a year ago seemed impossible, but now feels like something that’s within reach. We had some snacks. We tried and sort of succeeded popping popcorn over the open flame. But mostly, we did what this campaign has done for the last 412 days: we communicated. We listened. We built relationships that will be the fuel that keeps us going when the going gets tough.
No matter what would have happened Saturday, this team who were strangers a year ago had already won. Because not only is the work the reward, the people you do the work with are an even better reward.
And now, thanks to the endorsement of the CD7 DFL Convention, the work continues. We’ve got 190 days to go, and a lotta work to get there. We’d love to have you join us on this team and help us send Erik to Congress because we believe we can do better.

Planters are in the fields in parts of western Minnesota. We need to restore our representation on the Ag Committee in D.C. & we believe we are the campaign that can do that.
