comin’ up on 500 days
This campaign will pass the 500-day mark later this week. We’ve come a long way since March of 2025. The finish line is within sight. Every single day is an opportunity to improve. To become better. I put on over 1,000 miles last week in our continuing effort to build relationships at scale. Shook a lot of hands, listened to what was on people’s hearts & minds. Even knocked on some doors. Someone asked me what keeps me going. It truly is the support we’ve gotten along the way. I’m amazed by the actions other people are willing to take.
Meanwhile, our Team is still growing. We are now up to 6 full-time employees. The month of June was about increasing capacity. July has been about improving our processes. I feel really confident that the right people are in place to help this campaign finish strong.

A Look Back
Had a good chat with the folks from Beyond the Yellow Ribbon of Grant County, a local organization dedicated to recognizing and supporting veterans, law enforcement, fire & rescue, EMS & beyond. I learned about one of their newest efforts called Mental Armor. This program connects those who serve and their families to licensed mental health professionals.
I’m continually humbled by the work others are doing. Every time people show up to walk in a parade, or come to an event, or knock on doors, or make phone calls, or run for office. It is inspiring. It is the fuel for this campaign. Last night’s Sinclair Lewis Days Parade was another strong showing. The Stearns Co. DFL had a great presence. Bob’s truck led the way. It was great to have so many other candidates there as well. MN State Senate candidates Kari Dorry (SD12) & Skylar Funboh (SD5) and MN State House candidates Talitha Anderson (HD12A) & Michael Garnder (HD12B). Skyler even brought his dog Cheddar. Add MN State Auditor Candidate Zack Filipovich & you’ve got a solid lineup. Forever grateful for everyone who keeps showing up.
Politicians were NOT allowed to be outside their float in Sunday’s NW Water Carnival. So I got to practice my “parade wave.” I also got to experience getting drenched with water guns.

I’m inspired by the spirit and tenacity that make western Minnesota one of the greatest places to live & work. Talked with a lot of people about industry opportunities in the TRF area. Even had an in-depth conversation with a self-described Libertarian. When I mentioned who I’m running against, they said “She’s bought & paid for.” Another example of why we believe we need to get corporate money out of politics.
Stopped by the Kittson County Fair to visit with voters. Reconnecting with some and meeting others for the 1st time. If you are unfamiliar, Hallock, MN is just 18 miles from Canada. Talked with a few farmers about the current state of affairs. More specifically, sugar beat prices and soy bean markets. Also talked with a couple veterans about their benefits.
We are humbled to earn the endorsement of the Minnesota AFL-CIO. This organization stands with working people: fighting for good jobs, fair wages, and the right to organize. That’s what democracy looks like.
I’m a working-class problem solver. I believe elected officials should be beholden to the people, not profit. That’s why we’re fighting to get corporate money out of politics. That’s why we stand with workers. And that’s why I’m honored to have the AFL-CIO’s support as we work to do better for Minnesota.
We are also truly humbled to earn the endorsement of the DFL Rural Caucus. This group understands what it takes to keep rural communities strong: protecting agriculture, respecting good stewardship, and fighting for those who keep our economy rooted in the land.
I’m a rural person. I live & work in rural Minnesota. I fish, I hunt, I get it. I’m honored to have their support as we work hard to do better for the 38 counties that are the heart of Minnesota’s 7th.
We Can’t Do It All Alone
This week showed what’s possible when people show up: Hundreds of people came out to walk alongside our campaign and other DFL candidates across Western Minnesota to show parade-goers the strength and enthusiasm behind what we are running for. We met thousands along the way, and after miles of travel and as many conversations, I’m proud of this campaign for bringing so many voices to the table, hearing from you, sharing our message, and talking about how we can do better.
But miles and handshakes alone don’t win a campaign. They get us in the room. What gets our message into inboxes and in front of voters across Western Minnesota is the support of people like you.
Whatever you’re able to give: a contribution, a share of our social posts, or an hour knocking doors — it moves us closer to a Congress that actually shows up for rural Minnesota. We’re grateful for every bit of it.
