A very successful Fish Fry Town Hall in Yellow Medicine County at Memorial Park in Granite Falls, MN.

A packed room said the Pledge of Allegiance at Thursday night’s Fish Fry Town Hall in Little Falls, MN.

united we stand

Fall is my favorite season. For a number of reasons. I put on 491 miles this weekend. 1,013 for the week. It is a great time to be driving up and down western Minnesota. The treelines are starting to pop. So are the Fish Fry Town Halls. We had 3 of them in the last week and each one of them was special. Morrison County is known as one of the most conservative counties in Minnesota. I grew up in Upsala which is a town of 400 in Morrison Co. Thursday night we packed the back room at the VFW in Little Falls with roughly 150 people. I had family & friends there. Perhaps the most rewarding moment for me was watching dozens of volunteers rise to the occasion and execute a transformative evening.

This campaign is built upon the belief that actions speak louder than words. Each of these visits, every time people roll up their sleeves and put in the work those actions are on display. When we began this campaign, I said this campaign isn’t about me, it’s about you. And you have all answered the call.

Our Path To Victory:

Now we have a direct ask of you. We’ve all been working hard, pert near 1,000 volunteers are already knocking on doors, phone banking, helping with our Fish Fry Town Hall events, writing and mailing out postcards, and so much more. Our path to victory is paved with the work of the people behind this campaign.

Because of this, we’re asking you directly to lean in extra in the coming weeks. Right now we are in need of volunteers to make phone calls. These are calls to invite neighbors to our Fish Fry Town Halls, invite them to join in doorknocking activities, and just make sure voters know about Erik and what this campaign is all about.

This effort is so important that we launched another 38 Club, the 38 Phones Club. 1,000 volunteers making 38 calls each. We’ll give you the script, you dial the phone – it’s that easy.

Come Doorknock With Team Erik

We need  to knock 10’s of thousands of doors in all 38 counties in MN- CD7 to make sure people know about Erik and understand the importance of this opportunity in Western Minnesota. If you are a first-time doorknocker, let us know – we’ll give you some doors of people we know are our friends. Seasoned and ready to engage in changing hearts and minds? We’ve got some independents we’d love for you to speak with.

If you can’t join us on a doorknock, consider phone banking with Team Erik. Every single knock, call, and message makes a difference.

We are adding more door-knocks every day. Please check erikosberg.com/doorknock to find a doorknock near you.

Media in the district is taking notice…

Thanks to the Wahpeton Daily News for covering our Fish Fry Town Hall in Breckenridge. This article covers what we’re all about and highlights some of the questions that come up at these events all across Western Minnesota. People just want to be heard, & that’s what we’re doing. Listening. Taking questions. And offering a different choice.

Give it a read when you get a moment. This article appeared in several community and regional publications this week.

A Look Back

more miles, more conversations, great connections…23 Fish Fry Town Halls down. 15 to go

Three more Fish Fry Town Halls, & the map on the trailer is filling up fast. Colleen marked off Wilkin County for us in Breckenridge — a county of just over 6,000 people in a town of 3,000, & again a whole lot of first-time faces. Showing up for rural places is the entire point of this tour. Then Morrison County about knocked me over. Well over 100 people, maybe 150, packed into the back room at the VFW in Little Falls. Humbled & honored. Huge thanks to both local DFL crews & to the candidates who came to share their vision.

In between, it was doors & conversations. Rainy day in Alexandria, so we knocked apartments — honored to have “Apartment Andy” with us again. Up in Polk County, I got to give my stump speech from an actual stump at a backyard gathering near Erskine, then sat in a side-by-side with an independent voter on his farm, talking agriculture, the Constitution, veterans & his frustration with a Congressperson who isn’t accessible & rubber-stamps whatever comes her way. We didn’t agree on everything, but we had far more in common than not. That’s the work. We outwork ’em. That’s how we win.

A great house party in Glenwood, MN with a special appearance by Luna the Campaign Dog.

A rainy day didn’t stop this crew from knocking doors in apartments in Alexandria

Ribbon cutting at the Farmers Union Meat + Processing facility in Staples, MN.

They say Morrison County is one of the reddest counties in the district, I think this crowd proves there’s a lot of Purple these days.

Had a great time at the Douglas County Fair Friday night.

We had a fun backyard gathering in Polk County near Erskine. Former elected officials, current candidates, local leaders & neighbors shared our visions about what is possible here in western Minnesota.

Had a great time at the Douglas County Fair Friday night.

Thank you, Breckenridge, for showing up and demonstrating to regional media what this campaign is all about!
