Turning to the General

The results of the Marshall Independent online poll from April 28-30.
Full Steam Ahead
With the DFL endorsement secured, we are turning our attention to the general election. We had a Team celebration Monday evening and got back on the road this weekend. On Saturday afternoon, The Marshall Independent published the results of their online poll for April 28-30. They asked, “If the election was held today, who would you vote for to represent District 7 in the U.S. House?” We got 62% of the votes, our current Congressperson got 38%. Not too shabby. Granted, it isn’t a truly scientific methodology, but we’ll take it.
A Voice for Farmers

One of the goals of this campaign is to become a voice for farmers. Over the past 400+ days, we’ve dedicated ourselves to meeting the ag community where they are at. We want to restore the agricultural community’s representation in Washington D.C. I’ve worked for farmers before & want to work for them again as their Congressperson.
Cinco de Mayo Celebration
It felt good to be back on the road again. I ventured back to McLeod County on Saturday for a Cinco de Mayo Celebration at the Pla-Mor Ballroom. I was amazed by how green things are in southern MN as compared to “up north”. Always enjoy being at the Pla-Mor Ballroom. Great to connect with old friends and make new ones. Special thanks to Diane R. for all her efforts.

Actions You Can Take
Our goal is to be at $300k by the end of May. If you have already donated – or even better, set up a recurring donation – THANK YOU! If you haven’t, please help us reach our next target by making an investment today. If you prefer to send a check, our mailing address is: Erik Osberg for Congress, PO Box 550, Wadena, MN 56482.
We are now over 500 volunteers. If you have already signed up, THANK YOU! With the County Conventions & the CD7 Convention behind us, we are shifting our focus as far as volunteer actions. We are also resupplying. New assets are being built for things like door-knocking. Yard sign order should be placed soon. Our field coordinator, Evan Mattson, will be reaching out. We will also be hosting virtual “volunteer summits” to help facilitate & implement our general election strategy.

Community Conversations

Met with members of the Kurdish Community in Moorhead.
I was back in Clay County Sunday. MN State House 4A Candidate Erika Yoney & I were invited to connect with members of the Kurdish community in Moorhead. The Kurdish people have made tremendous sacrifices, not only for their own freedom, but also in support of the United States. Through casual conversations, I heard stories about their paths to making western Minnesota their home. I heard about shared values like hard work, the importance of family & the desire to improve our lives. Many people said they feel betrayed by the current administration. They also talked about having family in the Middle East yearning for safety & security. We can do better when it comes to honoring the sacrifices our allies have made. Grateful for the invite and the opportunity to connect.
With gratitude,
Erik
