There are 38 counties in Minnesota’s 7th Congressional District. So far, we have visited half of them. We were in Hector, MN last week visiting with Renville County DFLers. I was able to meet some new people and even ran into a few we’ve already connected with. One of the goals of this campaign is to connect all the counties western Minnesota and create community. A community that believes in integrity, honesty, hard work, accountability, empathy, kindness & more.

TWe also recently attended an event in Fergus Falls as part of the DFL Listening Tour. Roughly 65 concerned citizens came out to share what was on their hearts & minds. Newly elected DFL Chair Richard Carlbom and his staff were on hand to hear firsthand what voters are most concerned about. We commend the DFL for taking a statewide approach to organizing.

Democracy isn’t a spectator sport.

I was at the MN DFL Senate District 9 Business Convention last week in Fergus Falls, MN. Roughly 50 people gathered to elect leaders & talk strategy. Jane Stock from Wilkin County had a t-shirt that said. “Democracy isn’t a spectator sport." I couldn’t agree more. It is, however, a contact sport. Meaning we need to make connections.  Our campaign is committed to meeting you where you are at. Figuratively & literally. We made 2 stops last week. Stevens County on Thursday & Otter Tail County Saturday.

The Stevens County gathering was a “what’s going on” dinner conversation at the American Legion in Morris, MN. Roughly 65 people gathered to break bread and share what was on our hearts & minds. Local experts were there to answer questions and share their perspectives. Professors Arne Kildgaard & Tim Lindberg from the University of Minnesota Morris were there. As well as Morris School Board Chair/UMM AD Matt Johnson. Topics discussed included: school & local government budgets, tariffs & Project 2025. I was allowed to address the crowd & take questions.

We're hitting the road & the water this summer with a message that is loud, & proud & purple. WE CAN DO BETTER. Keep an eye out for the “people’s tiller”. I was able to get some fishing in after the SD-9 meeting on Saturday. Despite the wind & cold, I managed to stumble into a few nice fish.

We only have 1 stop on the calendar this week as I will be spending time with family celebrating my middle child’s high school graduation. On Tuesday evening, we will be back in Fergus Falls for the MN DFL Listening Tour. You can register for the event here: https://www.mobilize.us/erikosbergforcongress/event/781118/

Our next stops

  • May 20th - MN DFL Listening Tour - A Center for the Arts, Fergus Falls 6pm-7pm

  • May 26th - Memorial Day

making time

Check out our new look for our old boat.
Check out our new look for our old boat.

We have hit the 2 month mark for our campaign. And we are still afloat ;-) I shared a belief when we launched back on March 11th. I believe there are blue dots (DFLer’s) on the map in western Minnesota. I’ve got good news. There are more blue dots than I believed. All we have to do now is connect those dots. We’ve spent the first two months listening to voters. We’ve been taking notes. We’ve been creating connections. One of the core values of this campaign is work hard/play hard. The only way we win is if we outwork everyone else. While having some fun along the way. Here are the numbers from the first 8 weeks:

  • 18 counties out of 38 visited

  • Almost $32,000 raised

  • 100’s of face to face conversations

  • 1 cool lookin’ boat

we got out on the lake this weekend, hope you did too

We believe western Minnesota needs leadership that meets people where they are at. We'll be bringing this rig to lakes, landings & events across the district all summer. If you see us out-n-about, snap a pic, give us a wave, or better yet a ✌️for VICTORY.

We spent this weekend celebrating Minnesota’s inland walleye/pike Opener. Got to catch some walleye, pike, bass & crappie. Hope you were able to get out & enjoy all western Minnesota has to offer.

  • May 17th - SD 9 DFL Business Convention

$50k by the end of May

Click here to help us hit our goal of raising $50k by the end of May. We really, really want to start planning some fish frys, but we really need to hit the $50,000 raised mark before we can execute the Reel Talk Tour.
