POLICY ISSUES
This campaign launched March 11, 2025. Since the beginning, we’ve talked about taking a different path to achieve a different result. I intend to look at past, current, and future legislation through a lens of restore, reform, and repeal. What legislation has passed that negatively impacts our country and that needs to be repealed? What has been taken away that should be restored? And lastly, what in our political system needs to be reformed?
This isn’t your typical campaign, and this isn’t your typical issues section. Our intent wasn’t to tell people what to think, but rather to listen to their concerns. In response to what we heard, this is our plan to improve the lives of the people we seek to serve.

Immigration
The current administration’s attacks on immigrant communities are cruel, destructive, and ineffective. ICE is terrorizing our communities, kidnapping innocent people off the streets and committing acts of violence. Over the last decade, we’ve seen a dehumanization of people just because they are different from us in terms of national origin, race, or religion. Even before these cruel attacks, our immigration system has been long broken. The process is incredibly difficult, complicated, and can take decades due to waiting periods and backlogs in immigration court.

The GPS coordinates of your mother at the time of your birth does not determine your value as a person. A person’s value is also not determined by their skin color or ethnic background. Trump’s attacks on birthright citizenship are absurd and anti-American. That’s in the Bible too: we should treat foreigners like our own.
ICE must immediately stop their campaign of terror and destruction in our communities. They should get back to their original duties of focusing on things like smuggling and sex-trafficking and leave this kind of enforcement to border patrol.
We need comprehensive immigration reform that maintains human dignity. The type of person who is determined and hardworking enough to leave their home and travel across the globe for better opportunities is exactly the type of person we should want as a member of our society. If we want to be the best, we need to attract the best, and sometimes the best weren’t born here. This also means a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers, keeping the promise we made to them.
