POLICY ISSUES

This campaign launched March 11, 2025. Since the beginning, we’ve talked about taking a different path to achieve a different result. I intend to look at past, current, and future legislation through a lens of restore, reform, and repeal. What legislation has passed that negatively impacts our country and that needs to be repealed? What has been taken away that should be restored? And lastly, what in our political system needs to be reformed?

This isn’t your typical campaign, and this isn’t your typical issues section. Our intent wasn’t to tell people what to think, but rather to listen to their concerns. In response to what we heard, this is our plan to improve the lives of the people we seek to serve.

Liberty and Justice for All

“In order for real change to occur, the majority must help support and advocate for the minority.”

Our nation has way too much us vs. them; we shouldn’t be fighting against ourselves. In recent years, we’ve seen increased misogyny, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, bigotry and prejudice in general. Those in power often use politically motivated division to incite anger and push personal agendas. Politicians should be people we can look up to–people our children aspire to be like. But, our political discourse has instead devolved into childish name-calling, personal attacks, and meme wars.

The first thing we did when we kicked off this campaign back in March was to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Right after we got done with that, we talked about our desire to reestablish the last six words: “with liberty and justice for all.” For all. The rise in vitriol and hatred that we’ve seen in this country, I believe, is morally and ethically wrong. I will always fight to defend our constitution and the constitutional right for all people to be treated equally regardless of race, ethnicity, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or economic status.

We need to restore civility and decency to our political discourse. I believe in the Golden Rule, in not judging people based on labels or the political party they subscribe to, and in approaching each other with empathy and an open mind. In Congress, I would work to ensure that every person in the district has a voice.
